October 27, 2011 Southern Gospel duo The Ladd Family are proud to announce the birth of Violet Marie Ladd. Violet was born to parents Paul and Melissa Ladd on October 27, 2011 at 11:14 p.m. Violet weighed 7 lb 15 oz and was 20 in long. Baby Violet is doing exceptionally well and is joined by big brother Elijah. "We appreciate everyone's thoughts and prayers for our family," mentioned Paul Ladd. "Melissa didn't have the easiest of pregnancies, and we believe that God's grace saw her through the birth of baby Violet thanks to the prayers that went up on behalf of our family over the last few months." The Ladd Family will resume traveling again in December.

Acclaimed vocalist, Steve Ladd is scheduled to perform with his brother, Paul Ladd & his sister in law, Melissa Ladd, during The Ladd Family's showcase performance at this year's National Quartet Convention. The Ladd Family have recently found themselves with an opening in their trio & Steve has agreed to fill in with the group for their showcase performance. After NQC, the group plans to travel as a duet. The Ladd Family is scheduled to perform on Tuesday afternoon during the Pathlight Promotions & Media Group block of the Regional Showcase along with fellow company artists, The Goodwins & The Concords. Other Pathlight artists performing in the regional showcase during this week include King's Harmony & Faith Harmony Boys. Melissa Ladd’s popular blog, “Mimi’s Moment of Truth” has been picked up by “The Southern Gospel Times”. The Ladd Family, of Rock Hill, SC have just released their latest project entitled, "Love, Mercy & Grace". This exciting new project contains a total of 11 songs, 10 of which are original songs from the pen of Melissa Ladd. One of the songs written by Melissa, contained on this project is entitled "Let Go". This song is the group's first national single from the project. It will be shipping to radio stations nationwide on the Pathlight Promotions CD for Radio vol 2010-06. The project was released July 2010 & can be ordered online at www.laddfamilyministries.com . Paul Ladd is the brother of Southern Gospel vocalist, Steve Ladd & has himself traveled with groups like The Steeles, The Melodyaires & The Anchormen. After being on the road with these artists, Paul developed a desire for a group of his own. The Lord fulfilled this dream when the Ladd Family was formed along with Paul's wife, Melissa. The group has been together, traveling the country & spreading the Gospel of Christ in song & testimony for approximatley 5 years. They bring a vast knowledge of God's miraculous healing power through Paul's diagnosis & later healing of Cancer. After being told they would never have children the Lord blessed them with beautiful baby boy, Elijah Nathaniel Ladd, in 2009.
